Ralph Lauren model Filippa Hamilton: I was fired because I was too fat!

Filippa Hamilton says she was fired for being 'overweight.'

In this Ralph Lauren ad, which features Hamilton, her appearance was altered to make her look very thin.

Ralph Lauren's clothing company fired model Filippa Hamilton, whose body looked emaciated in a touched-up ad because she weighed too much, the woman told the Daily News Tuesday . . .

Sandy Dumont flies to Hamilton's defense with her comment:

Too many models have destroyed their heath to be abnormally thin for ridiculous, obsessive fashion designers.

When I worked as a model many years ago, I noticed that all of us models ate like truck drivers; yet we were all a size six – which is now a size four.  Every model I ever met throughout the country and Europe said the same:  Once you begin “starving” the body to be thinner than it should, the health suffers.

Sometimes the damage is irreversible.

I hope this matter with Ralph Lauren firing Filippa Hamilton will bring fashion designers to their senses so they will stop destroying the health of young women.
