Tyra Banks is a beautiful woman. She’s prettier, however, when makeup artists respect her skin’s natural coppery-pink undertones (photos left). Most stylists and makeup artists make the mistake of matching the hair color or “harmonizing” makeup to the superficial appearance. It doesn’t work. You get “Perfect Makeup” – which is what we’re used to – instead of the “perfect Skin” look. It’s only when you make a comparison that you notice how unnatural and artificial it looks.
You get what I call “False Harmony” – which I wrote about in my new book “Color Me Correctly, Please.” It’s available on my website: theimagearchitect.com.
Ciara got the same “False Harmony” – but her makeup is less yellow, so it doesn’t look as artificial..
