I AGREE WITH NOT WEARING LARGE EARRINGS WHEN WORKING BECAUSE THEY CAN AND DO GET IN THE WAY OF WORK ACTIVITIES SUCH AS TALKING ON THE TELEPHONE.

NOW FOR THE PEACH SUIT, I JUST THINK IT WAS A BAD FIT.

I WISH SOMEONE WOULD PLEASE TAKE MICHELLE OBAMA SHOPPING. HER DRESS/STYLE IS “JUST TOO CASUAL” FOR HER POSITION

Bolder earrings does not necessarily mean larger. It simply means earrings that accessorise better and have presence! I totally agree with Sandy. I’m not into the politics directly as I do not not reside in the US or neither I am a citizen so I have no vested interest. However, colours do make a statement and while Gov. Palin may had reasons to look heavier, if the colour of her suit were more solid and darker and the style more flattering to her figure, she would have had more presence.

And I agree with Sandy 100% since her new wardrobe didn’t make any difference…

Sandy… do you conduct courses in the Caribbean?

I don’t know if they chose all American designers, but that would have been a good touch. I agree, they could have spent far less and had better choices. Where is the jewelry, indeed. Even sale costume jewelry at a department store could have yielded some striking pieces.
As far as being “against” Sarah Palin or sexist, that person must not follow your work. You have made critiques of candidates of both parties in the past. You reviewed both McCain and Obama.
How about a review of Michelle Obama, even though she is not running?

You are being overly sensitive. This is a fashion blog, not a political blog. Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi and Michelle Obama are women who have been in the spotlight for sometime now. She obviously hasn’t and needed some help with her image. It’s very important for women in power to make sure they are projecting images of power. She’s not running for first lady, she’s running for VP. Her image has to project leadership. Please, save the political pointers for a political blog, not a fashion blog. Thanks.

First, Sarah, have to say that you missed them! All of the people mentioned above were scrutinized about their image, hair, clothing choices. Hillary Clinton = “the pantsuit”, remember? In fact, what is being said about Michelle Obama’s image is far worse…waiting to see Sandy’s suggestions for her. I probably have all of those emails if you would like me to forward – it is fascinating to watch what the candidates wear. I am surprised this is the first you have seen from Sandy on candidates and their image. I have been watching and reading Sandy for years. Image may not be everything, but it sure is close! There is NOTHING wrong with Sandy looking at how the candidates represent themselves. They will one day be representing us, after all.

I agree with Sandy, also Jeannie and Sonya that they need a more competent image consultant – perhaps Sandy! – especially since the expense report was released…

Vice President, holding babies and talking on the phone is not the first job duty that comes to mind for the power suit next in line to leading the Free World… I think that is a more offensive thing to say than observing that the beige did make Palin look heavier than she is. If Palin was a man, you probably would not think about the suit in relation to babies and talking on the phone.

The beige is simply a visual effect – try it on yourself and you will be amazed how much heavier you can look with clothes ill-fitting and same color as your skin – then how thin you will appear when wearing correctly tailored power colors.

Also think Sandy was lenient on the shoppers who spent over $150k in a couple of months with such up and down results. Sandy has taught me to go straight for the colors that work, then make sure they fit and accessorize! Thanks, Sandy!

You are right about her image. She should have hired a professional, teaching her about the psychology of color and how to dress for your body type. ( It appears that she does have a good figure) I also think that if nothing was said about the $150K then she would have continued wearing them.

I find your comments disappointing and boderline offensive. Your introduction of “John McCain’s running mate” is inflammatory and sexist. Obviously, Sarah Palin WAS HEAVIER on the day the “peach” suit picture was taken. Maybe it was a few weeks after giving birth??? As a working woman, I would expect you to be objective, but that must be beyond the image challenge.

I dont recall seeing this type of mailing on Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, or Michele Obama. Let me know if I missed them.

Also, for the record, heavy/large earring actually interfere with daily activities such as holding babies and talking on the phone. Practicality must also be considered with image.
